It’s that time of year! … Time for the TimberChar filters to go back in the water for 2025. If you’ve helped the SLIB and our lake by hanging the TimberChar filters on your docks and lifts across the last two years please remember to get them back on the lake for this season. The paragraph immediately below gives detail on the recommended install. And, if you need new filters, ropes or floats this year please contact us at friendssilverlake@gmail.com and we’ll help coordinate what you need.

2nd Annual Silver Lake Kids Carp Cull Contest – We’re excited to be back on with an expanded Kids Carp Cull Contest this year. We’re holding Collection Events each Sunday in June from 12:30N-1:00P. So encourage those 16 and under you know to cull all the carp they can. Find the details here. Remember, removing nuisance carp from Silver Lake helps promote the efforts to improve water quality, establish native aquatic plants and improve our fishery.

2025 FoSL Annual Meeting
The Friends of Silver Lake Annual Meeting is scheduled Saturday June 28th at 9:30A. We’ll meet again at this year at the Golden Township Park at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We’re preparing the agenda for this year’s meeting now and we’re eager to hear from you about the issues you think should be driving our community forward, please drop us a line at friendssilverlake@gmail.com with you ideas.

2025 Fourth of July Boat Parade – We’re on for this year’s Fourth of July Boat Parade on Friday July 4th before the Silver Lake Thunder on the Dunes Fireworks. All the details can be found here.

Who We Are –

Friends of Silver Lake is a non-profit association of property owners and other parties interested in the betterment of the Silver Lake community (Golden Township, Oceana County, Michigan). Our purpose is to discuss, promote and act upon ideas that contribute to keeping the greater Silver Lake community more beautiful, enjoyable, secure, and valuable. We promote the improvement of waters, roads, walks, beaches, and other area environments, advocate for various improvements, and assist in raising funds for such purposes.
